HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man accused of leading police on a chase through southeast Houston could also face kidnapping charges.

Police tried to stop the suspect because he was driving erratically, but he took off and led officers on a chase.

The driver eventually crashed on Cullen near McKinney and both he and his woman passenger were taken into custody. But now, that woman claims she's a victim.

Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson said, "She advised that the male had held her at gunpoint during the pursuit and he threw the gun out of the car. Right now we're attempting to verify her story and locate the pistol."

For now, the driver faces felony evading and DWI charges.
