KATY, TX (KTRK) -- Two women are behind bars after police say they tried to cash a fraudulent check and then led police on a miles-long chase through Katy yesterday.

Katy Police say they were called to a Capital One bank in the 1200 block of Pinoak where two women in a black Chevy took off southbound. They crashed about six miles away on Gaston Road at Enchanted Crossing, according to police, but both passenger and driver took off on foot.

Police say they caught the suspects shortly after.

The driver, Monica Luna, 21, was charged with evading arrest in a vehicle and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. The passenger, Yesenia Yolanda Ayala, 19, was charged with evading arrest on foot.

They are now behind bars at Fort Bend County Jail.
