HPD: Wrong-way driver causes crash near downtown

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a vehicle going the wrong way caused a crash early this morning on the Gulf Freeway near Dallas.

The driver crashed head-on into another vehicle near the Pierce elevated roadway.

The crash led to a massive backup on the busy freeway, causing some people to try to use the shoulder lanes to get around the mess.

So far, there's no word on any charges in the case.
