HPD officer working security fires gun during fight at club
A Houston police officer working security at a club fired his gun when someone shot into a crowd

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer working a side security job at a northeast Houston nightclub opened fire when a fight spilled into the parking lot.

It happened at Club Love Showtime on Crane Street near Linn.

Police tell us two HPD officers were working security when the fight started. They were able to break up the fight, but then someone in a vehicle shot into the crowd. One of the officers returned fire.

No one was hit by the gunfire.

The suspect remains on the run.
