Police: Mom leaves kids at Memorial City Mall food court to go to job interview

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A mother is accused of leaving her children alone in a Houston mall food court so she could attend a job interview.

Laura Browder is charged with abandoning a child.

Police say she left her two children, ages one and 6, in the Memorial City Mall food court while she interviewed close by at a shop in the mall.

An off-duty officer and deputy were alerted by security that the kids were alone.

The children were unharmed and turned over to family members.

We reached out to Browder for a comment, but have not heard back.
