Police search for suspect in fatal SW Houston shooting

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured Thursday night in southwest Houston.

Houston police responded to a shooting call around 9:13pm in the 10600 block of Beechnut, where investigators found 26-year-old Kensley Paul and a female victim, 19, at the apartment.

Paul was pronounced dead at the scene and the female victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, according to police. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, about 5-foot-11 and short black hair. Investigators believe that he also answers to the names of "Chi" or "Chicago." Police said he fled the scene in Paul's white 2013 Ford Focus, with Texas license Plates FTM 0876.
