Hit-and-run driver leaves victim dead in Porter

PORTER, TX (KTRK) -- The search is on for the driver who hit a man and then left him to die in the middle of a road in Porter last night.

It happened just before 9pm on FM 1314. DPS troopers say the victim, 55-year-old Arnulfo Palacios Salazar, was walking home from work when he was hit by a dark-colored Chevy pickup truck.

Salazar died at the scene.

Witnesses told troopers the driver of the truck stopped, looked at the victim's body in the road, then kept going.
