HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Parents in Houston are questioning the district's procedure after receiving late notifications of school delays. They are hoping Houston ISD makes a quicker decision on whether schools will be closed or delayed on Friday.

During Wednesday's weather, HISD announced on Twitter that school would be delayed and a call went out to parents at 7:38am.

That's a time many parents consider too late.

"Parents started getting their calls a little bit after seven o'clock in the morning, which is not ideal. You'd like to get them out a little sooner than that," HISD Press Secretary Jason Spencer said.

Spencer added the district did the best they could with the weather information they had.
