HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A southbound Union Pacific train clipped the back end of a cement truck, overturning in a ditch in southeast Houston, according to Houston fire officials.

Authorities say around 11:40am on Galveston Road just south of Beltway 8, the cement truck went through the crossing without stopping for the oncoming train. The train caught the back end of the truck and sent it onto its side.

The cement truck driver had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. No one on the train crew was hurt.

There was significant damage to the front end of the locomotive. A wrecker had to haul the cement truck upright, out of a watery ditch that runs along the train tracks.
