Grandparents found dead at home in Fort Bend County
A grandfather and grandmother have been found dead at their home, and deputies are now investigating the circumstances of their deaths

FORT BEND CO, TX (KTRK) -- A grandfather and grandmother were fatally shot Friday morning in front of four grandchildren who also were inside the couple's Fort Bend County home.

The bodies of 63-year-old Maria and 58-year-old Reinaldo Ramirez were found around 7:12am at their home in the 16900 block of Midnight Sky Court in the Mission Bend area. Initial reports stated their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, but investigators won't say anything except that they're not searching for anyone.

One neighbor says she saw Reinaldo leave his home and return earlier that morning. He flashed his car's headlights, signaling hello as he'd always done, and went inside the home. But other neighbors says they heard arguing, some kind of fighting going on around 7am.

One neighbor said she heard three gunshots coming from the house. That's when several of the kids ran outside looking for help.

Police believe the 14-year-old witnessed his grandparents being shot and killed. Three other children -- ages nine, four and two -- also were in the home at the time of the shooting.

"I'm scared. This morning I saw four police car pass by the house," neighbor Lin Vuong said.

Police say the handgun used in the shooting was found inside the home.

"I just saw someone in there running, they were just running around," neighbor Allen West said.

Neighbors are in shock.

"All I know is he was a very hard working man. He worked seven days a week," one neighbor said.

Neighbors say Reinaldo was known for the lawn company he co-owned with his brother.

The children have been reunited with their parents, and other relatives are arriving at the scene.
