First female infantry Marines report for duty

History was made in the U.S. Marine Corps Thursday as the first women to fill regular infantry jobs reported for duty in camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

It's a landmark move in the integration of women into military combat roles.

They will serve in the First Batallion, 8th Marine Regiment with specializations working with rifles, machine guns and mortars.
