HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An electrical problem may be to blame for a fire that burned though the roof of a home in southeast Houston.

Firefighters were called to the home on Calhoun at Perry around 10:37pm last night. When crews arrived, they found flames shooting from the roof of the one-story home.

A man and woman who live there both escaped safely. The homeowner says power went off inside the house. About 10 minutes later, they noticed the home was on fire.

The house sustained extensive damage to the roof. No one got hurt.
