Fire destroys home for sale in Sunnyside

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A home that was for sale on Houston's south side is now destroyed after an early morning fire.

The flames broke out just after midnight at a home on Maggie Street near Cullen.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming through the roof of the one story home. Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames, but the house is destroyed.

Firefighters didn't find anyone inside, and it's not clear if anyone was living at the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
