Fire destroys brothers' home in northeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two brothers woke to find their kitchen in flames in northeast Houston overnight.

Firefighters were called out to the home on Eastland near Nashville around 4:30am this morning.

Investigators say the men were asleep when they smelled smoke. Both were able to make it out safely, but their home was destroyed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
