A man was injured in a hit and run in Cypress.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Investigators say a man was taken by LifeFlight after reportedly being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the 10000 block of Pine Cone Lane, late Wednesday night.

The father was loading a lawn mower into a truck when a 20-year-old man came speeding by and hit a parked truck, which ran over the dad.

His son, David Mena, was inside the house and ran out to see his dad hurt.

"I wanted to chase after the guy, see where he was, but I'm not gonna leave my dad on the floor. He was unconscious," said Mena.

The neighbors chased after the suspect, who ended up crashing into another car.

Police arrested the suspect and the father was taken to a hospital by LifeFlight and is considered in critical condition.
