COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- A family had a rude awakening when a bear broke into their home and ransacked the place in the middle of the night.
The 375-pound black bear tore through the home for about five hours, then pushed down the front door to get out, KRDO-TV reports.
The man who owns the home said he first thought a burglar had been through the home as his family snoozed through the night.

But when Chris Odubhraic checked the home's surveillance cameras, he found video of the massive bear opening the refrigerator, and going through the cupboards.
At one point, the bear even peeked into the family's bedrooms while they were fast asleep.
Officials said this is not the first home the bear had broken into in that part of Colorado.
Wildlife officers had to euthanize the bear, claiming it was a threat to public safety.
