A robber put a knife to a woman's throat at a Thai massage parlor in Katy.

KATY (KTRK) -- A man walked into a Katy Thai Massage parlor off I-10 near Fry Road Monday night with a plan in mind.

A surveillance video clearly shows the man initially acting like a customer, asking the clerk about prices and payment, and then leaves parlor.

Five minutes later, that same man is seen walking back in and reaching into the back of his pants for a large kitchen knife.

The man threatens a female employee by holding the knife to her throat and demanding money.

Fearful the robber may strike again, the owner of the massage parlor talked to ABC13's Natasha Barrett through an interpreter.

The owner said the robber did not get away with any money because the employee could not open the register. But, the owner and his employees are very frightened and hope someone recognizes him before the suspect hurts anyone.

The man claimed he had a gun, but never showed one to the clerk when he attempted to rob the parlor, according to police.

Police said on the same day, just 30 minutes later, the same man tried to rob a bookstore nearby.

In both robberies, no one was hurt.

Police ask that if anyone recognize the man to call the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
