HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police arrested one man after they say he broke into a doughnut shop in southeast Houston.

The burglary was caught on surveillance video.

The owner of the Dannay's Doughnuts on Broadway and Lawndale said that the man took $700 and the cash register around 2am Thursday.

Police say he jimmied the lock and walked right into the place.

A wrecker driver said he heard the door open to the shop after he saw the burglary suspect pull up in a truck. He was able to chase him down before police arrested him.

The shop owner said she's concerned after watching the surveillance video because it appears the man knew his way around.

"When he came inside, he knew right away where the office is, so that's why he go right away to the office and took all the cash," shop owner Lyda Oun said.
