HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in his west Harris County home Monday morning, and family members say it all started with an argument between the young man and his sister. Detectives were called out to a homicide at the 1900 block of Oakwell overnight.

A family member told abc13 that a 16-year-old girl stabbed her 19-year-old brother Mario Aguirre at their home.

"He was just a good person, he was always there, to be a protector," said Priscilla Aguirre, another sister.

Aguirre says her brother Mario was arguing with his younger sister over their stepfather. Somehow, a knife got in the mix.

"When I heard this, I couldn't believe it, I couldn't stop crying, I'm still in shock," said Mario Aguirre's close friend, who did not want to be identified. "He was a good man, he really was."

Neighbors tell Eyewitness news this is not the first time they've seen a police presence at the house.

"It was very common to see the security going to the house, because there are a lot of teenagers there, and they were being unsupervised sometimes," said Maria, a woman who lived two doors away.

She says even though the siblings inside the home sometimes raised eyebrows in the neighborhood, nobody ever expected anyone to get killed.

"It shocks me in the morning, And I still think about it, and it's hard to swallow, because they are young kids. It's very shocking to see them, "

The 16-year-old is being questioned by sheriff investigators. No charges have been filed.
