Stabbing investigation underway in NW Houston
Sheriff's deputies are investigating after they say a woman was stabbed by her husband in northwest Harris County.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Detectives are still here trying to figure out why a husband would stab his wife and it all happened in front of their young daughters.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office say they got a 911 call around 11:30pm.

Deputies say a husband and wife got into an argument in their home here on Badger Canyon Drive.

The man apparently stabbed his wife three times in the abdomen before the woman and her daughters ran out of the home and called police from a neighbor's house.

Life flight came to take the woman to Ben Taub where she is undergoing surgery. The husband also left the house after the stabbing.

"While the deputies were on the scene deputies received information on the whereabouts of the suspect apparently the suspect went to a relatives house," Sgt. David Jones said. "Deputies arrived at the relatives house and detained the suspect so right now we are currently still under investigation."

Detectives tell us the victim's injuries are non-life threatening. The daughters are still being interviewed by authorities, while the husband remains in police custody.
