Deputies: Husband shoots wife in northwest Harris County

CYPRESS, TX (KTRK) -- A woman is recovering from a gunshot wound this morning after her husband pulled the trigger, deputies say.

The call came in around 3am in the 13000 block of Lakecrest Drive in Cypress.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a husband accidentally shot his wife.

We are getting reports that he may have thought it was an intruder getting into the home, but that is still under investigation.

The sheriff's office says the husband immediately called 911, for help. The wife was transported to a local hospital.

Neighbors say their hearts go out to the couple.
