HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A gas station customer is accused of assaulting a store clerk after a fight over the gas pump.

Investigators said just before 10:30pm, the customer demanded the clerk turn the pump on, but was told they'd have to pay for the gas first.

Deputies said the customer pulled a knife out, and began struggling with the clerk at the Mobil station on North Sam Houston Parkway, near the Hardy Toll Road.

At one point, the customer ended up getting stabbed with their own knife.

The clerk told investigators it all happened so fast, he wasn't really sure how the customer ended up getting stabbed.

The customer was taken to the hospital, and is expected to survive their injuries.

The clerk, meantime, was treated at the scene and released.

Deputies say the customer faces possible charges of aggravated assault.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
