Deputies investigating deadly shooting at America's Best Value Inn

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One person is dead after a shooting at America's Best Value Inn in north Harris County.

Deputy constables with Precinct 4 were called to the inn located at 16,510 North Freeway around 1:30am this morning.

Deputies say a man and woman were sleeping when someone knocked on the door to their second story room. When the man went to answer the door, he was shot multiple times.

Police say the couple had been staying there for the past month while waiting for a new apartment.

Investigators did not provide a motive or suspect description. They are checking to see if there is any surveillance video.
