Deadly head-on collision in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies say a man ran off after causing a deadly crash in northwest Harris County.

The suspect was caught an hour later.

Authorities say the man lost control at the 16000 block of Kuykendahl near Woerner and crashed head on into oncoming traffic.

A woman in his car was killed but deputies say he ran way.

He was found at a nearby home and at first, denied any involvement.

Investigators say a seat belt mark proved he was in the crash.

He is now charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.

The other driver was not seriously hurt.
