Yolanda Black Navarro lost her battle to Leukemia

HOUSTON -- One of Houston's Latino community activist and leader Yolanda Black Navarro has died.

LULAC spokesperson Mary Ramos says Navarro died after battling Leukemia. Navarro not only fought for the Latino community -- but for all Houstonians to be treated fairly and equally. She served on the mayor's Hispanic Advisory Board and worked with many non-profits.

Navarro was 68 years old.
