City councilman ripped off by thieves who stole lawn equipment

HOUSTON -- City councilman Dwight Boykins often trades in his suit and tie for some dirty jeans and a baseball hat. And over the weekend Boykins got a dose of the very crime problem in his city council district D that he's trying to solve.

"I was cutting his yard, I was going on the backside of it in the last trip. And I turned around to get to the back of my truck." And all he could do was watch as the thieves raced away with all of his lawn tools, including his blower, and weed eater.

Crooks left him with one mower he was using to cut the backyard.
