Gun discharges at Bush IAH ticket counter
According to airport officials, the gun was in the passenger's carry-on bag

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Charges have been dropped against a man whose gun accidentally fired at the ticket counter inside Bush Airport earlier this summer.

Authorities say Joseph Austin successfully completed a gun safety course to get the deadly conduct charge, a Class A misdemeanor, against him dismissed.

According to airport officials, Austin was at the Delta ticket counter in Terminal A in late June and had a gun in his carry-on baggage. He was taking it out to check it in, but the gun fired while still inside the bag.

No one was injured in the incident.
