Police say man stabbed to death, roommates didn't report for days
Residents in a southwest Houston home lived with a dead body for several days before finally calling police.

The middle-aged man whose body stayed inside a southwest Houston home for days before police were called was stabbed to death, according to the Harris County Medical Examiner.

The body was reported Saturday night at the home in the 9200 block of Willow Meadow, but police said the man likely died Wednesday or earlier. The cause of death was initially unclear.

Police said the man had stab wounds but also had a cord wrapped around his neck. Authorities released the official cause of death Monday. The victim's name hasn't been released pending the notification of his relatives.

Eyewitness News spoke to one of the roommates outside the home Sunday who asked to not be identified. He was the one who called 911 as soon as he discovered the body.

"My other roommate, he knew he was there but didn't call them. He didn't tell me why," the man said.

Police took several people in for questioning, including the resident who called authorities.

Vicki Bright lives near the home where the body was found. Bright said she's lived there for 20 years and the neighborhood has always been quiet.

Bright also said she never had issues with residents of the home where the body was found.

"It makes you uncomfortable that someone committed a crime and let it simmer for three days. It's just bizarre," said Bright.

No arrests have been announced.
