Frustrated passengers trying to get to Houston spent nine hours stranded on a broken megabus.

The bus traveling from New Orleans to Katy Mills Mall broke down in Roanoke, Louisiana last night.

Passengers say another bus came to pick up the driver but left them behind.

"It was terrible because you have people thirsty. We have kids on the bus. A girl missed her whole brother's funeral today and an old lady needs her insulin," said passenger Coreyell Johnson.

The company released a statement in part saying:

"Megabus dispatched a rescue bus from Houston to their location to pick up the passengers. The passengers have since been picked up and are in the process of being given full refunds. Megabus apologizes for the inconvenience to our passengers on this trip."
