Bones found in wooded area of Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Investigators are trying to determine whether or not bones discovered in a wooded area are human remains.

The bones were discovered around 7:30pm last night by two men in a wooded area near Rayford Road and Lazy Lane.

Responding sheriff deputies cordoned off the area. The bones were collected and have been taken to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for analysis.

Investigators tell Eyewitness News that they may know as soon as today if the bones are human. If that's the case, investigators say it will take at least several months to determine a possible identity.
