CHICAGO, Ill. -- Authorities in Chicago are releasing body camera video showing a wild shootout between police and a suspect accused of shooting his pregnant girlfriend.
The video captures intense gunfire between officers and the suspect: more than two dozen shots were fired.
The suspect, Richard Grimes, was killed in the November shootout.
The recordings were released just before the deadline of a new city policy that calls for videos of police shootings to be made public within 60 days.
In Chicago this year so far, nearly 270 people have been shot, 42 people have been killed. null
