Baby dies from injuries in weekend crash that killed 10-year-old brother

HOUSTON -- A 7-month-old baby has died from her injuries after being involved in a fatal weekend crash.

The accident happened Saturday night on State Highway 249 and McKinley Road in northwest Harris County.

We're learning new details about a tragic crash that killed a 10-year-old boy

Juan Esparza was turning his Toyota Sienna minivan into the parking lot of a go-kart facility when the driver of a BMW SUV slammed into the back of their vehicle. With Esparza inside the vehicle were his wife and four children.

Her 10-year-old brother, Brian Esparza, died at a hospital as a result of his injuries. Investigators say neither child was wearing a seat belt at the time.

Officers say the baby was being held at the time of the accident.

The driver who slammed into the back of that minivan was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
