Authorities raid suspected chop shop in Fort Bend County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Fort Bend County deputies, acting on a tip, inspected a salvage yard Wednesday and took three suspects into custody.

Police say six salvage yards rent space on 13 acres of land off of West Bellfort near Old Richmond Road in the Sugar Land area.

They say they take parts from cars and sell it overseas to Nigeria. But when asked where the cars came from, police say, nobody had any paperwork and could not prove they own the cars.

Police arrested Emmanuel Onyeise, Daniel Abone and Ginikachukwu Langham.

"Hey sir, what happened back there? Why are they arresting you? Did you do anything wrong?" we asked one of the suspects as he was handcuffed.

"I didn't do anything wrong," he replied.

Police say they are checking VIN numbers on every car to figure out if any are stolen.
