Gunsmith shot, killed at N. Harris County apartment complex
A man who made weapons as a living was found shot to death by his neighbor

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Deputies say a gunsmith was shot and killed during a home invasion in north Harris County.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies told Eyewitness News that a suspect has been arrested at the apartment complex on Cypress Station near Hollow Tree.

The alleged gunman is inside an ambulance at the apartment complex with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim's neighbor says it was around 4:30am when he heard a commotion and came outside to investigate. That is when he says he found the body of his neighbor on the man's back porch.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office say the man had at least one gunshot wound.

A weapon can be seen visibly lying beside the victim's front porch. We are not certain yet if this was a gun owned by the man, who made weapons for a living.

His neighbor believes it was a weapon owned by man, and detectives are working to confirm ownership for the gun.

Crime scene investigators are at the scene looking for evidence as officers go door-to-door seeking any kind of tips as to who is responsible for this fatal shooting.

People who live in the community told abc13 that they have seen suspicious people in the complex at night, dodging between cars.

Investigators say they do not know if this is connected to the shooting, but the victim may have had photos of these suspicious people recorded on his cell phone.
