At least three people were shot at a north Houston apartment complex, according to eyewitnesses.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At least five people are recovering after a shooting in a parking lot of a northwest Houston apartment complex.

The attack happened before noon at the Coppertree Village Apartments in the 1400 block of West Gulf Bank.

Police said an argument between three men led to the shooting.

Kerissa Penister, who lives in the apartments, says she was just leaving for the store when she was startled by the sound of repeated gunfire.

"Its scary. Its dangerous. We have a lot of kids around here that play every day and you know kids love -- love to come outside and play," said Penister.

Authorities say some of the five people injured were among those doing the shooting. One shooter is still on the loose. Police have not released any possible suspect description.
