HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman who killed a Harris County deputy in a crash has been sentenced to 60 years behind bars.
Kelly Jo Ivey struck and killed Deputy Jesse Valdez III, 32, back in October of last year on Wallisville Road. On Thursday, she was convicted of intoxication manslaughter. On Friday, that same jury sentenced her to 60 years behind bars and a $10,000 fine.
Prosecutors say Ivey was under the influence of meth and had meth on her. She was on parole related to former drug charges.
