ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- A Tampa Bay area woman started her day by finding an alligator outside her home.
St. Petersburg police say a member of a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission crew captured the alligator Wednesday morning after officers responded to reports of the alligator at the home.
A police spokesman says officers responded to the call at around 4 a.m. and waited for the FWC official to trap and remove the alligator. The spokesman says the alligator was around 300 pounds and about 30 years old. He says the animal will probably be placed at a sanctuary.
