GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- Former MD Anderson pediatric oncologist Dennis Hughes pleaded not guilty this morning during his arraignment in a Galveston Federal Court.

He is charged with receipt, access and possession of child pornography.

His trial is set to begin on August 17.

No evidence has surfaced indicating Hughes of physically abusing any patient or other children with whom he's had contact.

Hughes was released from jail in mid-June after posting a $50,000 bond. The conditions of his release include wearing a GPS ankle monitor and no contact with children other than his own.
