FREEPORT, TX (KTRK) -- The body of a missing fisherman was found this morning in Sargent, according to a Freeport city official.
Federal wildlife officers found the man on the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge after he went fishing yesterday near the mouth of the Brazos River at Quintana Beach.
The man was with two other fishermen yesterday when he went missing around 6:30pm. They were fishing in the river when the current strengthened. One of the men made it to shore while another had to be rescued from a sandbar.
The man's name has not been released.
