Man in NE Houston alleges man he shot, killed was burglar

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man claims he shot a burglar at his business last night in northeast Houston.

The shooting happened around 9:45pm last night at a business in the 8000 block of Westcott near Camay that is still under construction.

Houston police say when they arrived, the owner said he shot the man because he was burglarizing the property.

The burglary suspect was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where he died.

Police say the case will go in front of a Harris County Grand Jury.

The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
