CONROE, TX -- A six-year-old boy remains in critical condition after being shot in the head with an arrow by his older brother during the child's birthday celebration at Piney Shores Resort on Lake Conroe.

Conroe Police Department Deputy Chief Russell Reynolds said officers were called to the archery range on the resort around 4 p.m. on Saturday, after the victim's 12-year-old brother accident shot him in the head.

"The 12-year-old brother of the six-year-old whose birthday it was, was taking a shot on the archery range and he failed to see, in fact none of the family noticed, that the six-year-old had run down the down-range side of the archery range picking up arrows," Reynolds said.
