CLEVELAND, TX -- "Look, I'm telling ya, there's somethin' movin' and it ain't us! Tracker's off scale, man. They're all around us, man."
That quote, from the 1986 movie "Aliens," pretty much sums up the sentiments of many residents of Southeast Texas at the moment as millions of creeping, crawling tent caterpillars are wreaking havoc on homes, automobiles and pretty much anything outdoors.
Over the last few days, dozens of local residents have shared photos of their homes on the Cleveland Advocate's Facebook page. The photos show masses of the worms hanging from roof edges, porch railings, car tires, porch furniture and other items.
