HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Four people are on the run after police say they crashed a stolen pickup truck into a convenience store, stole an ATM, led police on a chase before finally crashing into a tree.

This all started at a Shell station off the 59 Eastex Freeway at Will Clayton Pkwy and ended outside a home on Sadler at Lockwood in northeast Houston.

Police say around midnight, the four suspects used a brown Ford pickup truck to smash into the convenience store and steal the ATM. There was one clerk on duty, but it is now clear if that clerk was injured.

A Houston police officer later spotted the pickup truck with the ATM in the back. A chase began and ended when the suspects lost control and hit a tree outside a woman's home.

"Next thing I know, I heard loud banging noise, and that's when I saw the truck hit my car," said Faye Shannon. "It could've been in my bedroom if it wasn't for the tree."

All four suspects got out of the truck and ran off on foot. Police are still looking for them.
