Alleged shoplifting suspect leads police on chase

PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- A suspected shoplifter is now behind bars after leading police on a chase just before noon.

Authorities say the man allegedly shoplifted a TV from a Walmart on Telephone Road near FM 518. A Pearland police officer witnessed the commotion at the store and tried to pull over the suspect.

The suspect took off and led authorities on a chase. The pursuit came to an end on Almeda Genoa at Chiswick in southwest Houston. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
