HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Firefighters came to the rescue of a child trapped in a vehicle after a wild crash in southwest Houston.

Just before 10am, officials were called to the scene of the crash in the 9800 block of W. Bellfort at Bedford.

According to the property manager at a neighboring business, a car came speeding down W. Bellfort and lost control, before shearing off a tree and slamming into some parked trucks.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to reach a child trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Both mom and child were taken to an area hospital. Their conditions are not known.
