HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Five people were rescued from a truck after it crashed through a fence and landed on its side near the Southwest Freeway.

Police say the driver of the truck ran a red light and sideswiped another car near Hamilton in downtown Houston.

The truck crashed with so much force. It kept going and blew through a fence before flipping over.

Witnesses helped four of the people out, but firefighters had to use the jaws of life to rescue the last victim.

Alana Perez, whose car was hit, said, "Immediately I jumped out to go see. There were cars everywhere. People (were) trying to help. ... I was just hoping nobody was dead."

Authorities say the victims only suffered minor injuries.
