HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A family is rattled this morning after they had to barricade themselves in a room during a home invasion at an apartment complex in southeast Houston.

Police say three young people were inside the apartment on Galveston Road near El Dorado when they say two people tried to break into the home around 2am.

One of the victims said they heard someone trying to come through the front door. That's when they say they saw two people walking through the unlocked sliding glass door.

Kelly Foote said her daughter was in the apartment at the time, and she described what happened to ABC13's Courtney Fischer.

"Whoeever it was that had come in came in through sliding glass door. They didn't lock it. They had come in and they had a flashlight on and mask over their face. Some kind of hoodie or something pulled down over their face," Foote said.

Police say the three people barricaded themselves in another room and called police.

Police say car keys and a phone was stolen from the apartment.

One of the suspects took the vehicle and police later found it at another apartment complex nearby.

One woman was arrested. Another person is still on the loose.
