3 people escape large house fire in NW Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Family members were awakened by a large fire inside their northwest Houston home this morning.

Houston firefighters responded to the large house fire on the 6000 block of Carver Road at about 4:50 a.m.

Firefighters told Eyewitness News that the fire started from a vehicle under the carport and spread to the home.

Authorities said the family, two males and a woman, was able to escape the blaze. No injuries were reported.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control, but firefighters say the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
