Houston restaurants help feed Harvey victims, first responders

Restaurants offering free meals to first responders or evacuees:

Peli Peli Kitchen:

Currently in the middle of providing 20,000 meals to the red cross in a joint project between us and Sysco Foods. We knocked out 10k meals yesterday and have 5k today and 5k tomorrow! Weve had over 100 volunteers show up!!

We also have care packages to give out and are still cranking out first responder meals. Katy provided 2k meals on tues and weds!

We have also had our friends from Austin and San Antonio bring food, including The Director of Operations from Moonshine Grill in Austin.

Killen?s Barbecue and Killen?s Burgers Fundraiser

After contributing $50k to provide about 3500 meals for hurricane evacuees, chef-owner Ronnie Killen has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise more funds to continue their efforts to feed those in need and those on the front lines of hurricane recovery efforts. Ooh La La Dessert Boutique

First responders may come by any open bakery for a free dessert or drink of their choice, Friday through Sunday.

SeaSide Poke

The East Village poke shop will reopen today (Thursday) at NOON for business and will provide complimentary poke bowls to first responders.

Dish Society

Normal hours today at both locations. Continuing to feed first responders gratis through Sunday.

B&B Butchers:

The restaurant is offering a complimentary ?Houston Heroes? menu for all first responders tomorrow through the weekend (if they can get away for a quick meal). If they can?t, B&B is also donating and delivering over 1,000 meals tomorrow to the first responders and evacuees.

Backstreet Cafe - Will have special cocktails with proceeds going to Harvey relief. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters at Backstreet!

Caracol Will have special cocktails with proceeds going to Harvey relief. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters at Backstreet!

Pax Americana will be a hurricane relief donation drop-off center from 9am-8pm every day (except Mondays, as they are closed). They are only accepting packaged donations, no used clothing, blankets or bedding. Things needed: children?s toys and packaged snacks, packaged snacks, baby products (bottles, pacifiers, diapers, packaged baby food, etc.), feminine hygiene products, pet food and toys, personal grooming products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, bars of soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, etc.).

Del Frisco's Restaurant Group Thursday, August 31 through Monday, September 4, Texas-based Del Frisco?s Restaurant group will donate 20% of sales from ALL Del Frisco?s Double Eagle Steak House, Del Frisco?s Grille and Sullivan?s Steakhouse nationwide (53 restaurants in total) to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The goal is to donate over $1,000,000 to Houston area food banks.
