2 women critical after wreck in southwest Houston

HOUSTON -- Two women are fighting for their lives following a wreck last night in southwest Houston.

Police say a tow truck slammed into the women after the SUV they were in made an illegal left turn.

It happened on Almeda Road at Macgregor near the Medical Center.

The women were taken to the hospital and are in critical condition.

The driver of the tow truck was not hurt.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.
